Turning on a partner widget for a team created that widget’s tab for every
member. For a member who had never opened Company Tab Preferences, that widget
tab was the only tab row they had. The company screen only filled in the ten
standard tabs for someone with no tabs at all, so it never filled them in for
this member — and it never noticed on any later visit either.
The result was a company record showing the widget tab and nothing else. No
Activity, no People, no Emails, no Texts, no Notes. Reset to Default was the
only way back, which is a poor thing to have to discover.
What you may notice
Open a company record, or Settings → Company Tab Preferences, and any standard
tabs you are missing come back on that load. A widget tab your team has enabled
but you never received is added at the same time.
Turning a widget on now also gives members their standard tabs up front, so
nobody lands in this state again.
What this doesn’t change
Your own arrangement is kept. Tabs you reordered stay in your order, and a tab
you deliberately hid stays hidden — hiding a tab keeps it, so it is never
treated as missing. Only genuinely absent tabs are added back.
